Project Spiritus

(2022 ~ 2025)

Bringing the Precision of a Ventilator to Every EMT’s Bag

Proto Dev and Fab were contracted to assist with the mechanical design, systems engineering, prototype fabrication, and device testing of a novel enhancement to the standard of care for CPR rescue ventilation. Our involvement with Project Spiritus spanned two hardware generations and 10+ complete prototype units produced with plenty of unit testing and solid modeling / design work over three years of collaborative effort.

I recently hired [Proto Dev and Fab, LLC] to help design a new medical device that will enable EMTs and paramedics to provide rescue breaths to critically ill and injured patients. Working with him was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

James brought impressive technical knowledge about medical devices combined with a remarkable talent for rapid prototyping. What set him apart was his ability to translate complex engineering concepts into terms that non-engineers like myself could easily understand—he made the development process collaborative and accessible at every stage.
His passion for the work was evident throughout the project, but I was particularly impressed by his dedication to getting the details right.
...
I would highly recommend James Rogers to anyone developing medical devices or other products where technical expertise, clear communication, and genuine dedication to the work matter. He’s a true professional and a pleasure to collaborate with.
